Boldmere Junior & Infant School

Boldmere Junior & Infant School had been experiencing a range of issues with its school cleaning, stemming primarily from poor management by the existing cleaning services provider.

During our initial meetings with the school, we identified the following issues with their cleaning: lack of onsite management or visits, low stock – impacting on cleaning, dated and poor quality equipment, lack of support from management, no guidance into work coverage, holiday and sick cover not fully provided and outstanding pay disputes.

After several meetings, and aligning with the present contractor in place, KWB Corporate Cleaning was successful in adding Boldmere Junior & Infant School to its client list. This included transferring staff on government pensions and with long service terms and conditions intact.

Boldmere has been delighted with the instant results we have delivered. By implementing our managing structure on the operations of a struggling team, we have been able to improve cost and time efficiency, as well as the satisfaction of both staff and client.

From the moment of our instruction, the improvements to school cleaning which we have made include:

  • Weekly visits from management
  • Monthly visits from upper management
  • Supply of chemicals, appropriate for a school, used and kept in a safe manner
  • A bespoke work pattern and specification to suit the needs of the school
  • New, modern, efficient equipment
  • New, modern cleaning techniques
  • Pay dispute settled

Boldmere is an interesting example of our work. KWB Corporate Cleaning has primarily provided better management, equipment and training to an existing staff. The smooth handover to our management team minimised potential disruption to the school and ensured that benefits of our approach could be seen immediately by the client.

Boldmere represents the first of KWB Corporate Cleaning’s instructions from the education sector. Having recognised the need for proper management of the project, we have delivered results that speak for themselves.

Create Fertility

KWB Corporate Cleaning was initially asked by Create Fertility to provide office cleaning services with only a days’ notice at their Birmingham Business Park site.

Create Fertility was opening a new clinic and needed light cleaning help during their transition period of fit out. KWB Corporate Cleaning was then asked to cover on a daily basis employing a member of staff to cover throughout the day, full clean on Fridays and to assist with their preparation for open days.

The fit out took in excess of 8 weeks. KWB Corporate Cleaning supported all nurses, phlebotomists, administration staff, doctors, and surgeons with the specific cleaning requirements and products they required for their particular area of the building.

KWB Corporate Cleaning was asked to quote for the permanent contract and was awarded this in February 2016 and we provide the following office cleaning services:

  • Cleaning of the whole site on daily basis
  • Provide full consumables on site
  • Window cleaning every quarter
  • Theatre cleaning
  • Locking up and setting the alarm every evening

One contract on which we have been able to demonstrate our commitment to a partnership is Create Fertility. Good communication between the companies Senior Estates Manager and KWB Corporate Cleaning’s own Supervisors and Regional Manager made us an attractive partner for Create Fertility and we have been assured once further contracts of theirs are up for renewal KWB Corporate Cleaning will be invited to tender for these sites also.

United Business Centres

KWB Corporate Cleaning has provided office cleaning services to the serviced office operator UBC since being awarded the contract May 2013. Since then we have delivered daily office and common areas cleaning to all sites, across the country.

The contract covers the main reception areas within each building, common areas and each individual office for the companies who reside within the sites.

One of the company’s main objectives for this office cleaning contract was to reduce costs without sacrificing quality of service. This was achieved by adjusting staffing numbers and introducing a set operating system for the remaining cleaning operatives.

The 30 incumbent staff were transferred to our payroll, in accordance with our action plan and was agreed with the sites prior to contract commencement. This action plan laid out timescales and detailed the process KWB Corporate Cleaning would use to meet all sites budgetary requirements without a reduction in the standard of cleaning.

Our operating systems included defining duties for cleaning operatives, providing set structures and routines for staff. This proved to be a great benefit to our staff; particularly as operatives had previously been working without the benefit of such a plan.

Within three months we met our staffing plan and with staff leaving, we reduced the headcount by 5, improved the overall service for the client and had a controlled weekly plan. This has been a successful contract for both parties at a significantly reduced price. We also took over the control of ordering and monitoring the daily use of consumables.

KWB Corporate Cleaning’s ability to provide consistent service at reduced cost resulted in the contract being increased with additional services. KWB Corporate Cleaning now provides a carpet and window cleaning service, as well as the supply of washroom and hygiene consumables to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled.
